Poor finish, ovality, chatter and reduced tool life
can all be consequences of excessive imbalance on the
tool, tool holder, spindle or drive motor. Excessive
noise and vibration can usually be attributed to imbalance, but
could be indicative of looseness, bad drive belts, misalignment,
electrical faults and quite commonly resonance.
All the above are easily sourced through vibration
analysis. Allowing rectification to be carried out,
and quality returned. Bearings very rarely fail on their
own accord. Normally poor lubrication or overloading
is the cause for premature failure.
Typical Applications are:
|
|
| |
|
 |
 |
- Balancing of: cutting tools, tool holder,
spindle, chuck, fixture, drive motor, draw bar,
hydraulic chuck
- Analysing structure or fixture resonance,
soft foot, looseness, belt drive problems, encoder
faults
- Associated vibration from nearby machines
or structures, airborne vibration sources (noises)
- Experience with cutting speeds up to 30,000
RPM
- Achieving displacement levels down to 0.3
microns
- Consultancy support for assistance in designing
and troubleshooting specifications
